Meet Ensemble GaudiorBased in Washington, DC, this Historic Performance group is dedicated to presenting masterpieces of chamber music from the Baroque and Classical eras. Each of its musicians has been active in the field of Early Music for more than 20 years. This premier group is versatile and flexible and frequently brings in guest artists to allow even greater variety of presentations. Venues for Ensemble Gaudior have included such historical sites as the Lyceum in Alexandria, VA; the Gamble Mansion in Boston, MA; Cabell Hall at the University of Virginia; Frick Fine Arts Auditorium in Pittsburgh; The Mansion at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD; and Vienna Presbyterian Church in Vienna, VA. Brief interludes of commentary dance through each performance to edify, enlighten and inspire audiences. Well-researched and scholarly notes accompany each program. Post-concert receptions to meet the artists and learn more about the featured works add to the warm and intimate style of Ensemble Gaudior. Mission Statement:My chief end in presenting these concerts can be summed up in J. S. Bach's motto "Soli Deo Gloria": to celebrate, glorify, and enjoy God forever, who included music among all the gifts of creation. Read more about the Artists and Alexandra MacCracken, Director. |
